Why does my SDG screen turn white when uploading an application?
Over time, the display driver chips used in SGD screens may change. To ensure compatibility, we update applications so they work with all display types produced, making them “backwards compatible.”
For the SGD 24 series, this means you need the latest version of your chosen configuration. This should update automatically when you start PanelPilot or by clicking Check for updates in the Choose Meter Style box.
If the update doesn’t occur, your connection may be blocked by a firewall. In that case, try connecting via a proxy server under File > Proxy Settings. If you still cannot update, the files can be downloaded directly as a .zip file.
Why did my SDG screen go black or stop displaying properly after uploading?

Are the SGD 24/28/35-M meters waterproof?
No, the SGD 24/28/35-M meters are not waterproof. Due to the design of the display and touchscreen, they should not be used in wet or highly humid environments. For applications requiring water resistance, consider the SGD 24-M-IP, which has a full IP67 rating.
Can I adjust the brightness on my PanelPilot display?
Yes. The PanelPilot M software allows you to set the display brightness at the end of the configuration process. Note that once the brightness is set, it cannot be changed without reconfiguring the display.
Software & Configuration
Where can I find new meter configurations or upgrade to the latest software version?
Within the PanelPilot M software, go to the ‘Choose Meter Style’ page and click the ‘Check for updates’ button. The software will then search for the latest meter configurations and software updates, and notify you if any new downloads are available.
Can I add my company logo to the PanelPilot M display?
Yes. During the final stage of configuration in the PanelPilot M software, you can choose to add your company logo. If added, the logo will appear on the display for a few seconds when the meter is powered on.
Is it possible to request a custom configuration that isn’t included in the PanelPilot M software?
Yes. Through our PanelPilot Custom Design service, we can create bespoke configurations to meet your specific requirements. Please get in touch with our sales team for further details.
Add-On Boards & Data Logging
Can I data log using the temperature add-on boards for PanelPilotM?
No, the PanelPilot M display does not support data logging, even when using the temperature add-on boards. You can, however, view live temperature readings with the thermocouple add-on. For data logging capabilities, we recommend using the EL-SGD 43-ATP.
